Welcome to Birch Bay, Washington and the web community Birch Bay.net. As the community portal for Birch Bay you will find all kinds of information about Birch Bay and the area. During the summer there are tons of activities as merchants throughout the bay as well as the local Chamber of Commerce sponsor events for the whole family.
If you are looking for a place to stay in Birch Bay, check out our Birch Bay Lodging Providers. For years visitors to Birch Bay have rented cabins and condos to enjoy our quaint beach and activities.
There are also a number of wonderful places to eat. Birch Bay has been known for years as a place to clam and crab. Since Birch Bay has some of the warmest water on the Pacific Coast, Birch Bay is a favorite place to swim in the ocean.

Another interesting tid-bit. Birch Bay has approximately 25% less rain then Bellingham, Washington which is only 20 miles a way.

Visitor Center in Birch Bay is open!

The Birch Bay Chamber now has an office and a Visitor Center. The new Visitor Center is located at 4880 Beachcomber Drive, Suite C (next to Trendwest) and has many brochures and event literature. For more information about the Birch Bay Chamber, go to: www.birchbaychamber.com

New Smart Growth Birch Bay Website

Smart Growth Birch Bay, which is an independent citizen's organization focusing on area growth, has launched a website at www.smartgrowthbirchbay.org.
The website provides residents with area growth information, including development projects, meetings and organizations, the development and permit process, and overall growth concerns.

Birch Bay Hostel Re-Opens

The Birch Bay Hostel in Bay Horizon Park has re-opened under new management by the Birch Bay Lions Club.
The hostel is open daily May 1 to September 30 and by reservation only October through April. It is available daily for simple, low-cost lodging for travelers. It is near Lions Camp Horizon in the county park.
The cost is $17 per night, with discounts for families, groups and cyclists. To keep costs low, guests share kitchen, dining and lounge areas and each two sleeping rooms share a bathroom. Guests are expected to clean up after themselves.

It's actually an example of how to use a GIF to Shockwave converter program taking photos and putting them into a little movie.

NEXUS Border Crossing Forms

A new website has been set up http://www.getnexus.com. This site provides information on dedicated commuter lanes between the United States and Canada, specifically between Whatcom County and British Columbia.
NEXUS is a joint U.S. - Canadian program which allows registered participants to use a special lane to cross the border between Whatcom County, Washington and the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.
Also visit this Nexus site put together by Canada Customs.
